Group of Youngsters in Front of the Citizens Banking Company

The Citizens Banking Company opened its new headquarters in the Feick Building on East Market Street in downtown Sandusky in 1924.  A group of boys is standing in front of the Citizens Bank. All the children are holding up an unidentified promotional paper. One young man is wearing a Boy Scout uniform. Note the vintage cars parked in front. Several bicycles are on the sidewalk as well. A large burglar alarm can be seen directly under the name of the bank. And if you look closely, you can see someone in an upstairs window. Today the Feick Building is still home to several Sandusky businesses and offices.

I know i'm posting this in the wrong place, but I could not figure out how to message the blog writer privately. I've lived in Sandusky now for a few years, and live across the street from an old building. I've asked around and heard a few different names for it, but nobody seems to know much about it. It's located at Tyler st and Campbell st, almost across from where Mama B's pizza is now. Any information on the building? or the area around it? I've been trying to research when my home was built, and who built it.

Although we do not have records of individual properties at the Sandusky Library, you might want to come to the library this week: On Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m., a program on Tracing Your House's History will be held at the Sandusky Library. Also available at the Library is a pathfinder for learning more about the history of one's house in Erie County, Ohio. Inquire at the Reference Services desk.

Leah: In the hope that you do find who built your house, if the builders' last names were Daniel or Erney, I'd like to hear about it. My grandfather William or Wilhelm) Daniel and his first cousin Benjamin Erney were house builders in Sandusky at the turn of the century, and I'd like to learn which houses they built. Some of them might have been in your neighborhood, as the Daniel family lived somewhere on Tyler and later on Central Ave. William died before 1920, but in 1924, when my parent married, Ben Erney built their house, the place I grew up in, at 1126 Fifth St. Ed Daniel Rockville, Maryland
